Project Title: Research and Marketing Project
Project Description:A laptop gets stolen in a London pub or club every 53 seconds. There is a critical need to reduce this level of criminality in order to improve customer safety, give licensees a new offer and increase confidence (and spend) in the visitor economy. The company is now requiring a marketing campaign to be researched and developed in order to get this new concept to market.

The project will produce a marketing strategy which will require:
  • Research in order to create a brand identity
  • Engage with social media
  • Development of marketing literature including website content
  • Development of an email campaign
  • Successful candidates will gain practical and demonstrable experience in the following key areas:
  • Experience of working with an innovative business
  • Researching building and creating the marketing strategy
  • Experience in a using a wide range of marketing tools
  • Practical experience in supporting the launch of a new product
  • The company is looking to undertake a project to develop the brand, social media presence and identify routes to market. We want to work with a talented Postgraduate to provide a fresh perspective and to develop the social media channels and brand awareness of the business to an agreed strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a marketing postgraduate or a postgraduate with an innovation or entrepreneurship background to be able to contribute to the growth of a new brand through creative social media management, the development of marketing ideas and content creation/writing.

    The company is a pioneering business that aims to revolutionise customer safety, initially in the pub and club environment. It is currently utilising new technologies to develop a product which will reduce the likelihood of theft from people visiting pubs, clubs and other entertainment venues.

    Skills required:

    Good English language skills, a high level of computer literacy, ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a small team, good knowledge of social media, time keeping, copy writing skills, problem solving skills and good communication skills.

    Knowledge of wordpress would be desirable, as would an understanding of corporate social responsibility and awareness of pub / club licence regulations.

    The successful candidate will be required to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement. Working arrangements for the placement are flexible and travel to the business premises is unlikely. The company is willing to travel to campus for meetings.
