Project Title: Social Media Strategy
Project Description:We're looking for someone to take our social media to the next level by building engaging content and developing ad campaigns based on user insights (number of likes, views, engagement) to drive sales of our cards. With a focus on acquiring over 5,000 customers in October and increased engagement and views on our content. You don't need to be an expert in data analytics for this role, however any prior experience in marketing or social media will be advantageous.

At the end of the project we would like pithy report on 'what good looks like'- i.e a review of what kind of social posts have worked best and why including basic data analysis over the last few months. This will inform us going forward and ensure that we have an effective and efficient cross-channel social media strategy.

During this placement you will be responsible for developing our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) including:

  • Researching relevant and similar keywords and hashtags that do well in our area and within Nottingham
  • Creating and developing content based on data insights on highest levels of engagement
  • Scheduling cross-platform content
  • Sharing our blog posts across our social media platforms and also any relevant third parties
  • Developing relationships with existing and potential followers along with engaging with Instagram influencers to promote our content further
  • Providing uplift on social posts (i.e increased views, likes, comments over time)
  • Attending regular content meetings - where we'll discuss as a team and come up with great ideas for the weeks/months ahead
  • Provide key insights into what competitors are doing
  • Key project outcomes:

    1) The report will clearly outline how social media will enable business growth through:
    - An evaluation of current social media success and challenges from the past 6 months
    - Increased views
    - Increased community interaction with the LionCard brand
    - A social media plan for the business which provides a template for activity for the next 12 months to ensure engagement remains high after the project ends.
    - Key recommendations on any core improvements to current social media usage

    2) Content based on data insights on highest levels of engagement

    The successful candidate will have:
    - Interest and knowledge (experience preferred) in social media marketing
    - Interest in ethical business
    - Happy to work remotely as well as in an office environment
    - Ability to work independently
    - Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work
    - Good writing skills
    - Strong written and spoken English

    Ideally the candidate will have:
    - Experience with Hootsuite Social media platform
    - Any previous work in social media marketing
    - Experience of developing successful marketing campaigns
    - Experience increasing community engagement

We support responsible businesses with free marketing, and drive responsible consumption with savings and offers at these businesses. We're working extremely hard in the build up to fresher's to try and sell as many LionCard memberships as possible, as this is our main source of revenue.

    - It is important that the successful candidate is available during September to support the key social media campaign for the new academic year.
    - Placements are very flexible and the project hours are worked to fit around your studies over the course of several months
