Our postgraduate placements are designed to help you recognise the breadth of your potential and highlight future opportunities.

About our placements

Each placement involves a discrete project at an external organisation for which the postgraduate researcher acts as a specialist consultant. The placements are delivered in partnership with a wide range of employers from small local businesses to multinational organisations. 

We generally offer two types of placement:

  • part-time projects, up to 200 hours, for a period of 3-6 months.

  • full-time 3 month internships.

  • Technical Lead for MVP Development and Commercial Launch

    Join an exciting early-stage startup at the forefront of nutrition insights. This would suit a postgraduate in computer science or experience in a related field to spearhead the development of a commercial-ready Platform as a Service (PaaS), automate help desk systems, and integrate a CRM, honing your skills in full-stack web development with NodeJS, MongoDB, and AWS, while gaining valuable experience in agile project management.
  • Stakeholder and Funder Mapping Project

    This placement would be excellent experience for a MSc Postgraduate at the Business School looking to gain experience and contribute to making a difference within an innovative social enterprise. This placement will focus on developing a new network of local authorities and housing providers and a database of innovative funding bodies.
