Project Title: Valorisation of grape marc from wine production: An options appraisal.
Project Description:We are one of the UKs leading producers of British wine and provide a range of quality wines, tours, events and research and development.

Currently the grape marc is a waste stream that is not being utilised, Grape Marc or pomace is the solid remains after the wine has been produced i.e. skins, pulp, stems, seeds etc. We would like to investigate in conjunction with the University of Nottingham the opportunities for product and energy recovery. This is expected to lead to a reduction in CO2 produced and support the environmental stainability of the company.

Skills required:
  • Experience of laboratory analysis including Health and Safety adherence
  • Experience of compiling a literature review
  • High standard of written English
  • Good awareness of statistical methodology
  • Good awareness of process engineering technologies
  • Competent IT skills
  • Can work independently
  • Knowledge of sustainability metrics

*Hourly rate is 9.19 pounds plus 1.11 pounds holiday pay
